ABOUT THE PATTERN:
ABOUT THE YARN:
Yak-Silk (a 50, 50 blend)
-Creamy to the touch.
-Ultra-soft, like perfect baby's skin.
-Like a dream!
Properties of Yak:
This is yak down, the softest of yak fibers.
-Warm: It has incredible insulating properties, which allow the animals to survive at extreme temperatures.
-Soft: Incredibly soft... buttery is truly the word that comes to mind! Your fingers will thank you as you work with this!
-Strong: Surprisingly strong (stronger than wool), for durable, long-wearing projects.
-Breathable: Do you ever feel sticky in synthetic fibers? Not so with yak... it breathes! It wicks moisture away from your body and releases it into the air, thus allowing you to feel fresher (and smell better!).
-Anti-Microbial: It doesn't attract the little microbes that live on sweat, so your garment stays fresher longer and won't get all stinky. Yay!
Properties of Silk:
-Excellent Insulator: Amazingly, it keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter (due to the fact that it doesn't conduct heat)
-Luster: Hello! Shine galore!
-Strength: Long-wearing, durable projects, baby!
-Vivid: Silk takes the dye like crazy... so the colors are rich and bold and saturated.
When yak is combined with silk, you get an amazing, SOFT, lustrous, luxurious, creamy, rich, vibrant yarn that is hard to ignore.
Projects made with this are sure to be adored and exclaimed over and kept for years on end. Do enjoy!
•Softly spun 2-ply lace weight (this is a wee bit thicker than some lace weights, so it's easier to work with, if you're a beginner. Yay!)
•Yardage: 630 m / 680 yd
•Weight: 95-100 g
•Recommended Knitting Needle Size: US 1-3
•Crochet Hook Size: B-D
Note: Each skein is a hand-created, unique work of art and no two skeins will be identical, even within the same dye lot. If working with more than one skein in a project, it is best to alternate skeins every other row. Despite every effort to accurately depict our product colors, actual shades may vary due to differences in monitor settings.

Such beautiful yarn, soft and buttery! I cannot wait to crochet up this cowl...sure to become a favorite item of mine. The bag, lavender and balm are wonderful as well.

I've worked with plenty of EFA's Yak Silk yarns and they're always just amazing! The luster, handle and softness make for an amazing luxury yarn that crochets up beautifully. The yarn itself is such a treat. The kit I purchased had two skeins in the color Oxblood which is such a beautiful red. The kit came in a lovely sheer bag that would be good as future project bag for smaller designs (perfect for a hat, fingerless gloves or short cowl). The lavender sachet is very fragrant (I keep it at work with me especially for when things get a bit nutty). Then there's the balm. It absorbs quickly and turned my angry dry cuticles around. This is a great kit for any crocheter. I can't wait to crochet this cowl up for myself! :D

I purchased Fable and it is stunning. Much prettier than the picture, the yarn so incredibly soft! The bag is awesome, too! Great project bag that protects the yarn. AND....the lavender sachet and balm! Sumptuous!!!
