You’ll love the speed and ease of this headband and how adorably cute it is. Great for you to wear or to give as a gift!
The pattern is specifically designed to be used with my Resilient Superwash Merino Wool Sock Yarn so the colors line up correctly and you have the right amount of stretch and elasticity, but you can substitute another stretchy fingering weight yarn if you get the correct gauge.
This was originally intended to be a hat. I stopped working on it for a day and realized... it wanted to be a headband. Let the yarn decide, I say! So headband it became.
This pattern (crocheted, btw), is:
•Beginner level. Easy. If you can do a double crochet, you're golden.
•3 sizes - adult, pre-teen and baby/toddler. It's stretchy, so the exact size isn't crucial.
•FREE!! Yes. No charge for this one!
•FAST. Takes maybe a few hours?
•INEXPENSIVE. You only need a tiny bit of yarn really and can make many headbands out of one skein of this yarn.
•It's designed to be used with our Resilient sock yarn for 2 reasons: 1. So the colors line up into stripes as shown. 2. So it's really stretchy and bouncy and pounces back into shape without getting stretched out like a lot of yarns do. You can substitute another yarn if you like, but make sure it's stretchy for sure. The colors may or may not line up, but if you're okay with more of a variegated look, then you don't need to worry about it.
•Great for GIFTS. Whip out dozens of these if you like! They are stylish, wearable, soft, keep the ears nice and toasty without being HOT (I wear mine inside and outside and always feel comfortable), lightweight (cheap to ship to friends and family!) and just all around CUTE. What's not to love?
You're paying for the digital file only (instantly downloadable as a PDF) and won't be shipped anything.
Have fun with the cuteness.
You may sell the items you make using my patterns. I just ask that you link back to my shop. Thanks!
Im currently making this headband in the color teal and it is perfect for me and my on the go lifestyle. Expression fiber arts is definitely one of my favorites!!
I really liked the simplicity of the pattern, I had never thought to crochet a wrap to "sinch" my headbands, but I loved how in the picture the two outside rows seems to pop out with the middle row hiding in the back (similar to a knit/pearl pattern but crocheted). Mine didn't turn out that way but more or less just a flat little rectangular piece. Still didn't look bad, just wish I could replicate how it looked in the picture.
Love how this looks. Can't wait to make this
This s so stylish and cute. Kinda like delightfully cute and stylish Chandi who shares all these terrific patterns with everyone. Thank you.
I bought the Coffee color to work up this headband, and it was adorable, and very quick and easy to do! I did the crochet pattern :)
I've only been knitting for about a week and this is the first pattern I decided to try since it just the knit stitch. It was very easy to follow and I didn't have to worry about changing to a purl stitch or slipping a stitch or anything fancy. I love this headband and made some baby size ones for a friend who has a new grandbaby.
I'm just a few rows into the pattern, but I know it is going to be gorgeous, and very easy. I bought the recommended yarn from Expression, and it is so wonderful to work with! I can't wait to have the final product!
Great little project to do while traveling. Easy pattern to follow. Loved the results. I have made several in different colors and yarn.
I love this pattern because it is a simple, straightforward pattern not requiring a lot of attention to changes in the pattern and it is not a lengthy project, making it perfect for someone just beginning to crochet. Even if you are taking your time learning and mastering the stitches this project can be completed before you feel like giving up. I plan on making several of these in the car while traveling duri.g the Thanksgiving holidays.
