The pattern is designed for use with 5 skeins of my Pearlescent Superwash Merino Wool Silk Worsted Weight yarn in colorway Mother of Pearl. If that is out of stock (our colors are limited edition and come and go), then any worsted weight yarn will do.
•Ultra-beginner level. If you can cast on, bind off, knit and purl, you are good to go.
•Minimal effort, but gorgeous results. You can mindlessly knit this treasure while at knit night, or while visiting with friends or while watching a movie. There are no charts to keep track of, no crazy stitch sequences to figure out... just ease. But the end product is breath-taking.
•You don't have to worry about running out of yarn. Isn't that wonderful? Nothing worse than getting to the final few rows of a pattern, running out of yarn and not being able to purchase it anymore. With this pattern, you can stop anytime.
•In addition, I give instructions in the pattern for making a scarf or a blanket. The only thing you have to change is the number of stitches you cast on and then you follow the pattern as written. So it's completely adjustable and really hard to go wrong.
•It's reversible. Sure is! Looks great on both sides.
•Wonderful for hand-painted yarns. The simplicity of the pattern works wonderfully with hand-dyed, variegated yarns. The beautiful colors can pop and mingle without getting lost in a complex pattern.
It uses size US 8 (5.0mm) needles (straights or circulars).

Enjoy wearing your elegant shawl or draping it across your bed or couch! It's long enough to fit a king size bed. XOXO

The simplicity of this classic design is wonderful. While I love texture and lace patterning, having a simple classy design is wonderful!

Haven't knit this up but love the simplicity and scrumptious yarn available on Expression Fiber Arts site. Plus side is they offer several free patterns of which this is one of them. Will definitely keep following this wonderful site and placing a yarn order soon. Yarn is absolutely gorgeous.

I am excited to start a project with this pattern - I want to do a shawl, but not sure I am ready for a "fancy" one yet

I just love this pattern . It's really easy and it's easy for someone like me. It's taking me a long time to do because of the pain I am always in . And now I have vertigo really bad and the double vision is driving me nuts. I will update this once I get mire done. But if I can do it any one can. I am have only been knitting for a short time and I am teaching myself. With the help of books and you tube videos that this site has done is great.

This is one of those "Go To " Patterns that a knitter will "go to" whenever you need a gift for someone or just to give yourself a little lift. You could make it casual or dressy, and still retain its simplicity and elegance. All in all, pretty cool!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just started my Mother of Pearl shawl pattern recently. I'm using the Mother of Pearl yarn that I had been collecting. It's beautiful!! This pattern is not hard to work at all...2 basic rows after the edging. I am having so much fun knitting this!

This is a great pattern. I am an advanced beginner for knitting and have been looking for a rectangular shaped wrap that the instructions were not over my head. I am not skilled at reading and understanding charts. They are a bit overwhelming to me right now. This pattern is great for my skill level. I can watch t.v. and talk to my family while knitting it and not mess it up. Even though it is going to take me quite a while to finish it, I am looking forward to have it ready for the fall and winter seasons. It is really a pleasure for me to knit this. I am enjoying it very much.
