Notes From the Designer:

In addition to being a music nerd, I'm also an anime nerd. I like anime with strong female characters, and one of my favorite series that's packed with strong women is Saiunkoku Monogatari, or The Story of Saiunkoku. I'm naming several of my patterns after the women of Saiunkoku right now, and this piece is named after Kocho, who (among other things) is a smart and clever businesswoman who has successfully navigated a male-dominated society to become one of the most powerful business owners in the capital city. She's feminine and fierce, and doesn't allow either to be a detriment to the other. I love the two colors used in this piece because I think they perfectly represent her feminine public side and her mysterious hidden side that few are allowed to see.

•This piece starts with a few stitches and an increased on both sides to form a triangle end that opens into the main body. The same lace pattern is used in both color sections, but shifted across stitches with each color change to keep things interesting.

•Simple decreases after the body create another triangle at the other end, and a small number of stitches complete the bind off.

•This is an easy piece that is great for television knitting or knit night as the patterns are easily memorized!

•You can work this piece in as many colors as you like, or as few! The choice is completely yours. Make this piece a reflection of the strength and intelligence that you possess.
