Description

SIZE: 

This pattern has some stretch, so it fits most adult head sizes, ranging from 20” (51 cm) in circumference to 23” (58 cm). 

MATERIALS: 

Expression Fiber Arts Buttery Sport yarn

Samples shown in colors: Musing, Grandfather's Library, and Beseech.

1 skein used per hat, approximately 250 yards used.

If those colors aren't available, any from this category will work.

The original sample (taupe color) was made in a now discontinued yarn base.

NEEDLES: 

US size 3 (3.25 mm) 32-40”/80-100 cm circulars if using the Magic Loop Method, or 16”/40 mm circulars and/or DPNS in size needed to acquire gauge.

SKILL LEVEL: 

Adventurous Beginner - For those knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches and techniques include knitting in the round, basic cables, and decreasing.

Notes from the designer:

My husband requested a cabled hat, and this is what I created for him. I kept the pattern simple, but that will be your secret. It’s an eye-catching, manly cabled pattern that any guy would love! 

  • You can use any method of working in the round you prefer to make this hat.
  • Hat is worked from the bottom up.
