MOCHA YAK SILK LACE

$39.00

MOCHA - a rich, marbled blend of deep chocolatey browns, stunning gray and deep taupe...mmmm... you can almost smell the deliciousness of coffee just by looking at this one. It also reminds me of hard shell and vanilla ice cream, all crushed on a cold marble slab, ready to be scooped into a cone and eaten. Nom nom nom.

YARN - Yak-Silk (a 50, 50 blend)

-Buttery.

-Creamy to the touch.

-Ultra-soft, like perfect baby's skin.

-Like a dream!

-Shimmery

Properties of Yak:

This is yak down, the softest of yak fibers.

-Warm: It has incredible insulating properties, which allow the animals to survive at extreme temperatures.

-Soft: Incredibly soft... buttery is truly the word that comes to mind! Your fingers will thank you as you work with this!

-Strong: Surprisingly strong (stronger than wool), for durable, long-wearing projects.

-Breathable: Do you ever feel sticky in synthetic fibers? Not so with yak... it breathes! It wicks moisture away from your body and releases it into the air, thus allowing you to feel fresher (and smell better!).

-Anti-Microbial: It doesn't attract the little microbes that live on sweat, so your garment stays fresher longer and won't get all stinky. Yay!

Properties of Silk:

-Excellent Insulator: Amazingly, it keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter (due to the fact that it doesn't conduct heat)

-Luster: Hello! Shine galore!

-Strength: Long-wearing, durable projects, baby!

-Vivid: Silk takes the dye like crazy... so the colors are rich and bold and saturated.

When yak is combined with silk, you get an amazing, SOFT, lustrous, luxurious, creamy, rich, vibrant yarn that is hard to ignore.

Projects made with this are sure to be adored and exclaimed over and kept for years on end. Do enjoy!

•Softly spun 2-ply lace weight (this is a wee bit thicker than some lace weights, so it's easier to work with, if you're a beginner. Yay!)
•Yardage: 630 m / 680 yd
•Weight: 95-100 g
•Recommended Knitting Needle Size: US 1-3
•Crochet Hook Size: B-D

Note: Each skein is a hand-created, unique work of art and no two skeins will be identical, even within the same dye lot. If working with more than one skein in a project, it is best to alternate skeins every other row. Despite every effort to accurately depict our product colors, actual shades may vary due to differences in monitor settings.

Blown Away
5 Stars

This is the first time I have ordered from Expression Fiber Arts. I have been lurking around the website, following her on Instagram and Facebook and finally hit the "Add to Cart" button. Boy am I glad I did! The color in this skein is deeper and richer than my monitor shows and I was ecstatic when I opened my package. It's GORGEOUS and I can hardly wait to design and knit something with it.
