What Makes Us Unique

Exclusive, custom-made, luxurious yarn bases.

Rich, unique colorways for eye-catching projects.

Inspired yarn and patterns created to spark joy.

Description

During the sari production process in India, bits of silk fiber are left on the equipment. These are gathered and hand-spun into the yarn you see pictured. It's a wonderful idea for salvaging what would normally have been thrown away. It helps the earth and the economy and you get gorgeous yarn. Win win win!

Each skein WILL BE very different. Please see the photo above showing the pile of various skeins. We'll randomly select skeins for your order.

The yarn itself is unusual. I would classify it as a very dense yarn.

•You could make this into baskets, coasters, bowls, rugs or other household accessories. It would be great for various types of decoration.

•This COULD be made into wearable items, but it's not a squishy yarn like wool or acrylic or other yarns you may be used to. It's very dense and firm, almost rope-like.  I've seen shawls, scarves, hats and other wearable accessories made and they're absolutely gorgeous.

•Shimmering and exploding with color!

•91 m/ 100 yards (BULKY weight)
•Recommended Knitting Needle Size: US 9-11
•Crochet Hook Size: I-L

•Approximately 100 grams / 3.5 oz

Note: Each skein is a hand-created, unique work of art and no two skeins will be identical, even within the same dye lot. If working with more than one skein in a project, it is best to alternate skeins every other row. Despite every effort to accurately depict our product colors, actual shades may vary due to differences in monitor settings.
