Advanced Beginner - This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques.
Notes From the Designer:
Pineapples upon pineapples upon pineapples
•A fun crocheted shawl, loaded with pineapples upon pineapples. The color you choose sets the mood. Make it vivid for a pop of color, soft and romantic for date night, neutral to go with everything or have fun with a variegated yarn! Enjoy watching the shapes emerge and the shawl grow to your preferred size!
•This pattern looks advanced but contains only basic stitches! If you're familiar with working pineapples, this pattern will be a breeze. If not, you'll learn something new!
•This forms a triangle shape and can be worn in multiple ways: as a traditional shawl wrapped around your shoulders as a bandana/cowl.
•You really don't have to worry about running out of yarn because the design is a repeating pattern. Just stop when you decide you're finished and work the edging rows and you're done!
•Picture tutorial included for EACH row so you're never left in the dark, scratching your head in confusion.
•Ideal for solid or tonal yarns, but hey, go wild and crazy if you want and use a variegated. Life is too short for holding yourself back from your greatest desires!
•You'll need a size E (3.5 mm) hook. You'll want to be comfortable with single, double and triple crochets, as well as chaining and slip stitching.
•Click the videos tab to watch a tutorial of this shawl.

I just loved to crochet it! It's so easy to follow! It was my FIRST PROJECT EVER WITH ABREVIATIONS! And it was in a language that wasn't mine (native of Spanish...). The video explanation itched me to go further! Thanks for the design and the video to kickstart a whole new project for me!

So glad there was video tutorials for the start. Now I am on a roll. Super great pattern for someone who has never crocheted lace before. I can't wait to make it a rainbow of colors.
Stunning shawl! The pattern has logical repeats so you don't need to count after the first few rows. I don't usually work with fine threads and small hooks (I love the instant gratification of bulky yarns), but this pattern was a joy to make, and I'm happily looking forward to making it again!
Stunning results. The pattern has logical repeats, so you don't have to count or keep the pattern open after the first few rows. I don't usually work with fine threads and small hooks (I love the instant gratification of bulky yarn). but I really enjoy this pattern, and I'll make it again!
Thank you for your pretty pattern, I love it!
What a beautiful shawl, Chandi. I can't wait to make it! Thanks so much for the pattern xx
I finished this shawl last week in a beautiful hand dyed yarn from Hobby Lobby in a lovely shade of dark rust. I love the way it turned out! Beautiful, lightweight, and the pattern is enjoyable and addictive. Would love to make it again in a different color.
This is a beauty
This shawl is exquisite, I only regret that there are no diagram for the patterns
This is the most Beautiful pattern and very easy to follow
This was a very easy and beautiful work up. The pattern was simple to follow and the video was very well done. Love this pattern! Great beginner pattern.
Love this pattern. Super easy and the result is stunning. I’m still working on my project
My two favorite things to make. I ask their favorite colors and pick a pattern I think they will like! I also make dolls and animals for children of my friends. I love it.
Beautiful shawl. I love trying shawl patterns. I keep a list of patterns and colors and when I have finished I send them to that person
I love to make shawls. I have a list of people and their favorite color. Then I pick a pattern and send it to them.
Beautiful stitches! Could be worn dressy or casual!
This shawl is one of my new favorites. I used a slow color change yarn in pastels similar to a whirl, and it came out absolutely gorgeous. I love that the pattern is made to let you make it as big or small as you want. It's especially wonderful because I made this while on the road to and from a family funeral. It gave me something beautiful to focus on. Thanks, Chandi!
I made this Adeline Shawl using the pattern and it turned out AMAZING!! If I got stuck at one point in the pattern, the videos were helpful. :)

Beautiful shawl. I haven't gotten far on it. Had some problems to begin with ( my Doing.)
A beautiful Shawl. I've just started it. Had problems to begin with ( my doing).
i like the pattern .. thank you Chandi
Really beautiful crochet patterned shawl. Will be starting on it soon.
Love this pattern! Pineapples are great and I love the way Shandi explains when they are sprouting in the pattern.
I did’t crochet it yet, just because I don’t have my thread yet. But I’m anxious to start. The instructions are easily to understand and pdf are neat. Loved it.
Pattern was for crochet. Easy to follow.BeAutiful pattern
I loved it
I have just completed the Adeline Shawl in 3 afternoons. So easy and quick to work and it's such a beautiful pattern! I am in love with all things Fiber Arts Expression.
Easy to follow instructions for any level, whether beginner or advanced!
This pattern is amazing as usual. I have the perfect person to make it for. I keep a list of friends, family and someone I want to make a shawl. I know a list of their names and favorite color. On a budget but I will purchase your yarn when it is on sale! Even though it is well worth the prize. Thank you my friend!
Another beautiful shawl! This is perfect for a gift I need. You are amazing. I am on a budget but when my birthday comes I will be purchasing your yarn. The hard part will be picking the yarn.
Lovely pattern. My friend adores it!!
Love this paftern. So lught & airy.
I love this pattern and I love watching Ms. Chandi, I wish she was one of my best friends.
The pattern was very easy to follow and I think Chandi is wonderful to watch.
I love making shawls. I will be starting this pattern soon. It's beautiful.
Great pattern with easy 4 row repeat. Shawl turned out fantastic
Love this design, very well written, great photos which are extremely helpful since it's in US terms and I'm UK but loving how it's coming together - and I will definitely be making more of these
I adore most of the patterns on this website but this is so beautiful!
A very beautiful pattern. Especially love this colour blue. Love making shawls. I usually knit them so I’m looking forward to a change.
Looks like a beautiful pattern/shawl. Looking forward to making it. Love making shawls.
Love the pattern, but would suggest using a plain colored yarn so you can see the detail.
Love the pattern but my yarn choice was wrong. I would suggest a plain colored yarn to be able to see the details.
I love your patterns. I hope to make this later this year.
I love your patterns. I hope to make this sometime this year.
Beautiful pattern. Can't wait to start. Thanks for the freebie
Beautiful shawl pattern. Cannot wait to start! Thanks for the freebie.
It looks very pretty and feminin. I'm hoping someone will give me some money for my 60th Birthday so I can buy some of your beautiful yarn
Clear and concise instructions. I eagerly await the weekly patterns.
Tolles Muster und schöner Schal. Dankeschön
I really liked how the shawl looked and I enjoy collecting patterns for future use. So glad I could get this one.
You must have been reading my mind! I love crocheted pineapple patterns and this one is no exception. The color you chose is lovely. I have to finish a few things before I can start one, but really want to make at least one.
Beautiful pattern and yarn
Again, gorgeous crochet pattern. I haven’t crocheted in a few years, but this is calling my name. Feel confident since Reviewing the tutorial I’ll show n tell when done. Thank you
Beautiful pattern n yarn used. I love it so much, thank you.
I saw a pattern with my name on it, and I just had to have it. I haven't started it yet, but the pictures look like they'll be a great tool to use alongside a written pattern. I can't wait to see how this works up!
great pattern, but I wish that the photos of the pattern, as you work it, had a background that was a bit darker and not white. It is difficult to see the stitches, done in yellow in the sample crocheting, against the white background. A mid grey or another color might show the samples better and be easier to see the stitches. Otherwise, it is great, well written and looks good so far.
This shawl is very beautiful and I am loving crocheting it. Thank you.
Love the pattern works up wonderfully in Caron latte cake yarn nice and soft
Beautiful. Love it
Beautiful. Love it.
I love how clear the instructions are both written and in the video. So, helpful. Beautiful shawl.
I love the pattern, haven’t made the shawl yet but am looking forward to it.
This is a beautiful pattern. Thank you Chandi. I started making the shawl, but did find it a little confusing even with the pics. Sorry to say, I have put aside the pattern to try again later. I definitely agree with others that a stitch chart would be so helpful or at least a stitch count after each row. A stitch chart as a visual aid helps your work go so much faster. Also, when listing yarn as fingering, sock, DK, etc. could you also list the yarn weight by class. (Lace 0, Super Fine 1, Fine 2, etc).
I absolutely love this shawl. The pattern was hard to read, thought. It was entirely too long, and paragraph format with repeats is hard to follow. Wish it was just cleaned up a little.
I fell in love with this pattern the first time I saw it. I consider myself a beginner-intermediate crocheter and the instructions were clear to follow and understand. The finished project is simply beautiful. I find myself coming back to this pattern over and over again.
I made this in Black Orchid and it is gorgeous! This was my first "pineapple" and I was so excited to do it. The pattern is easy to follow and as others mention, it works up faster than you would expect. You will love it!
The pattern is lovely but I didnt expect it to be 16 pages long! I'm glad I printed it in greyscale As I would have run out of coloured ink with all the photographs. A chart would have been more helpful and intuitive. I am enjoying crocheting the pattern. I ended up making my own notes for the repeat rows but I memorised them pretty quickly. I can't wait until I am finished to I can show it off :)
This is a great pattern and once you get the hang of it before you know you are almost complete. I will be making a bit much of these for gifts and to sell
I found this pattern to be very easy and one I have finished quickly. Once you get the rhythm down, you are done before you know it. I'm making these for my coworkers for the holidays.
Although I usually only knit, I do know how to crochet. This is one of the few pieces that I might try to make. It's a beautiful pattern.
I was so excited to find this pattern as I had been trying to find the PERFECT pattern for a Christmas gift for my niece. As her name is Adeline, I had to snatch this up as soon as I saw it. I started it last night and I'm blown away by how quick and easy it is working up. I'm excited that I won't be in a crunch trying to finish right before Christmas! Thank you!
This shawl is gorgeous, as the weather has become cooler this is the perfect combo piece. It can wrap around as a scarf (as illustrated in image) and can be taken off and wrapped oner shoulders to add a little extra warmth if needed. I added a few extra rows, to increase the size so I could wrap around my shoulders. Many compliments and making one more for my mom.
The color is awesome. The texture is like butter.
I'm making this shawl in cotton yar and a 3.5(E) hook . See it in Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/amayita/adeline-shawl This shawl is very easy to make, the pattern is clear. It works up pretty fast, and once you get the hang of the repeat rows you can put the pattern down and just crochet away. The pictures were very helpful, but I missed a chart (that's why 4 stars and not 5). At times I really needed to see the pics in order to know what to do where, but that's my visual way of learning :) All in all, a very satisfying project, thanks for this pattern!
I haven't done this yet, but I cant wait. This is beautiful and her items are really good as far as patterns so I know this will be a cake for me :)
Since I love pineapples, I adore this pattern. I haven't made it yet, but I have read through it and it seems very well written and concise.
Love this pattern and that you can increase the size if you choose. Your patterns are very easy to follow, and this works up well. Do not hesitate to buy this pattern, it is worth it! LOVE Expression Fiber Arts patterns and yarns!
Very nice and beautiful pattern.. Cant wait to wear it ❤️
I have to be honest in that I have not made this yet, but I am itching to make one for me and for some holiday gifts. It is so pretty and looks so feminine. I have always wanted to try to crochet the pineapple pattern and it looks so nice in a shawl. Thanks again for sharing such a pretty pattern.
Chandi not only make the most gorgeous luxurios yarns, her patterns are very well written for any level of expertise. Thank you for all that do. This shawl works up gorgeously with your yarns, I will making more of these!
this is on my to do list but I am hoping to start it sooner rather than later as I can't wait to start it
Lovely pattern, can't wait to finish it!!
The pattern was so easy to follow and like the description says you don't have to worry about running out of yarn. You can make it as long or wide as you want. One of my duaghters likes shorter shawls and one likes theirs longer. They are both very tall so I can't wait to see how it looks on each of them Christmas morning!
I'm enjoying this patten emensely. I'm half way thru it and it's working up so quick and beautifully. It has been a good refresher for the pineapple pattern. It's one I'll definitely be making again and again.
I got this pattern and afterwards noticed that it's crocheted. I don't crochet.....I knit!! I may give it to my cousin, she does everything. I still love the shawl and gave it 4 stars anyway......It's still beautiful.
I just got this pattern. So it is on my list to do next. Setting other projects on hold to try this. Love the yellow
The shawl looks beautiful. I haven't had time to make it yet, but the instructions look to be very clear.
Wonderful pattern. Extremely easy to read and having the photos at each level was great. Love everything about Expression Fiber Arts.
Shawl is beautiful, works up easily and has many pictures to use as reference for stitches required. Great gift to create.
I've just started this pattern, but already know how well written it is. As always, Chand brings me well written patterns for beautiful things
I chose this pattern because of the pineapple construction. I haven't rec'd yarn yet, so I haven't started it yet. I can't wait to start.
I love it. Very soft and comfortable. Easy pattern and so showey ( funny word oil know but it means I get a lot of comments on it) when you wear it.
I haven't started the pattern yet but I have read it over. Seems a well written pattern that will be easy for me to create. Thank you for all the great yarns and patterns.
