Notes From the Designer:
Anisoptera stands for “dragonfly.” Dragonflies symbolize transformation, creativity, and self-realization, and they remind us to live life to the fullest. The special stitches in this shawl are meant to resemble dragonflies in flight. The main rows of each section are done in a double crochet and a double crochet front/back loop only pattern that reveals loops on the front side. These front loops are where we attach our dragonflies. This shawl is worked from the bottom up in a rectangular shape.
- Click the video tab to watch a tutorial on how to work the dragonfly stitches in this pattern.
- This pattern is adjustable, but modifying the pattern will affect the final size and yardage requirements.
- Adjustments in size can be made by making a multiple of 8 + 1 FDC (Foundation Double Crochet).
- Each row should always have 345 stitches.
- Starting chain for each row does not count as a stitch.

Anisoptera wrap
Love this pattern. The contrast of the stitch pattern & contrasting dragonfly (my favorite little critter) is priceless. It will take a bit but I am working on it for one of my sisters, maybe two of them.
