SKILL LEVEL:

Notes From the Designer:

One of the things my daughters love to do is look at the night sky to see all the stars. Seeing their faces light up with joy as they shout at the top of their lungs, “Stars! Stars!” is something else. So, I thought I would create a lovely colorwork sweater that shows off some “starry” elements. Asteri is Greek for “star.” The yoke pattern features a hill where you might look up at the stars. Then some smaller stars, followed by larger stars, and finally a hint of houndstooth, since one of the many constellations is named the “greater dog,” after all. The charts are adapted from Vogue Knitting Stitchionary Vol. 3, ed. by Carla Scott. I hope you enjoy this simple, yet elegant sweater.

  • This sweater is worked top down in the round, so there is no seaming or grafting involved with the circular yoke construction.
  • Once you get to the body of the sweater, be sure to try it on as you go to check the length, so it's just right for you.
  • The pattern contains written and charted instructions, and you will need to be able to read a chart to make this sweater.
