$6.00

SIZE: Approximately 93” by 38.5”, blocked.

MATERIALS:

Expression Fiber Arts Resilient Superwash Merino Sock

Shown in colors : (a) Timekeeper, (b) Glass Blue and (c) Blue Peonies

(a) 2 skeins, (b) 2 skeins, (c) 1 skein

If those colors aren't available, any from this category will work. We used a total of 1800 yards for the sample shown, but you can adjust yours to be smaller or larger.

NEEDLES: US size 5 (3.75 mm) 32” circular needle (to accommodate the large number of sts at the end)

Adventurous Beginner-  This pattern is suited to adventurous beginners looking to add some increasing skills and textured stitches to their repertoire.

Notes From the Designer:

•Fall is coming! Snuggle up in this wonderfully large shawl as those evening temperatures start to plummet and campfire season begins. Compact garter stitch and stripes of star stitch come together to create an accessory piece that’s both warm and visually appealing.

•Choose three complimentary colors for a subtle look, strongly contrasting colors for something that pops, or even just one color for an elegant neutral piece that can be worn with almost anything.

•This pattern can be modified fairly easily. Work a longer or shorter garter section, lengthen or add more star stitch sections, increase or decrease the total number of sts to achieve your preferred size; anything goes! I like to create patterns that are easily adjusted so you can create something that suits your personal taste.

•I work a lot of early mornings, which has me leaving my house in the wee hours before dawn. I’m always struck by the brightness of the stars at that time, and how they appear to be close enough to touch. This pattern was meant to emulate that, and the way you sometimes see patches of stars peeking through thin bands of clouds. I hope you enjoy that feeling with this shawl, even if you don’t want to get up before dawn to experience the real thing (who could blame you?).

Great project for begginers

I made this shawl when I barely new how to knit and I loved it! It’s very well explained and simple enough for begginers though it has the stars to keep you from boring.

this model is really fantastic, simple but in colors just very versatile. I haven't done it yet because my tail is always too long ... but I'll definitely do it.

I love this pattern! Already made a shawl for myself and planning on doing another one. Thank you! It’s easy to follow and well explained and the video tutorial on You Tube helped a lot with the star stitch.

I love working this pattern! So easy and it's teaching me something new! At first, trying to do the star stitch was very difficult for me and I almost scrapped the whole thing, but then I learned to loosen up the stitches before the star pattern and it was much easier! I'm doing this one on some practice yarn I bought at a yarn store and then ordered the yarn from EFA to make it after I get the hang of it! Can't wait for it to arrive! It's beautiful when worked up correctly!
