CRASHING WAVES - gorgeous deep-sea blue/teal fades to frothy sea-crest cream
YARN - Yak-Silk (a 50, 50 blend)
-Creamy to the touch.
-Ultra-soft, like perfect baby's skin.
-Like a dream!
Properties of Yak:
This is yak down, the softest of yak fibers.
-Warm: It has incredible insulating properties, which allow the animals to survive at extreme temperatures.
-Soft: Incredibly soft... buttery is truly the word that comes to mind! Your fingers will thank you as you work with this!
-Strong: Surprisingly strong (stronger than wool), for durable, long-wearing projects.
-Breathable: Do you ever feel sticky in synthetic fibers? Not so with yak... it breathes! It wicks moisture away from your body and releases it into the air, thus allowing you to feel fresher (and smell better!).
-Anti-Microbial: It doesn't attract the little microbes that live on sweat, so your garment stays fresher longer and won't get all stinky. Yay!
Properties of Silk:
-Excellent Insulator: Amazingly, it keeps you cool in summer and warm in winter (due to the fact that it doesn't conduct heat)
-Luster: Hello! Shine galore!
-Strength: Long-wearing, durable projects, baby!
-Vivid: Silk takes the dye like crazy... so the colors are rich and bold and saturated.
When yak is combined with silk, you get an amazing, SOFT, lustrous, luxurious, creamy, rich, vibrant yarn that is hard to ignore.
Projects made with this are sure to be adored and exclaimed over and kept for years on end. Do enjoy!
•Softly spun 2-ply lace weight (this is a wee bit thicker than some lace weights, so it's easier to work with, if you're a beginner. Yay!)
•Yardage: 630 m / 680 yd
•Weight: 95-100 g
•Recommended Knitting Needle Size: US 1-3
•Crochet Hook Size: B-D
Note: Each skein is a hand-created, unique work of art and no two skeins will be identical, even within the same dye lot. If working with more than one skein in a project, it is best to alternate skeins every other row. Despite every effort to accurately depict our product colors, actual shades may vary due to differences in monitor settings.
I love the colors and the feel! It's way better in person than in the picture! I can't believe these colors are the exact depiction of the crashing waves
As soon as I saw it listed, I knew I was going to love this colorway and had to have it. In reality, it was even better. I adore it! The blues are so gorgeous and shimmery in the sunlight, and the cream compliments it perfectly. Well done, Chandi! I bought a lot of your yarns, but this might just be my favorite.
so far I've only had time to knit a swatch with this yarn, but it's easy to see that it will knit up into a very soft, drapey, fabric which is what I was looking for. I'm anxious to see how it will look after it's blocked. the blues in this yarn have a denim-y range of colors from very dark to very pale with stretches of a lovely cream shade. the feel of this yarn is amazing. the Yak/silk combo is so soft. I'm anxious to find the right pattern for it
