Approximately 427 yards were used for the sample shown (size small)

NEEDLES: US 8 (5.0 mm) and US 13 (9.0 mm)

Adventurous Beginner -  For those knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include: basic drop stitches, mattress seaming.

Notes From the Designer:

Cumulus is a quick weekend knit project that adds interest and excitement to your wardrobe. This top features sections of simple openwork stitches and basic drop stitches with a combination of Garter Stitch and Stockinette Stitch backgrounds designed to keep things interesting while you knit.

Simple seaming creates an open shoulder design that can be easily altered for those who wish to make their tee in a more traditional style. Slit seams on each side and a longer length on the back make this a fun and flirty piece that is perfect for layering as temperatures fluctuate. In keeping with the customization theme of this design, I have included 8 sizes ranging from bust size 32” to bust size 60” with 2” of positive ease.

Rectangular pieces are knit flat from the bottom up and then seamed together using the mattress stitch with guidance from the schematic diagrams included in this pattern.

From the designer: Light and airy tops are always fun to wear in warmer months and to layer as the weather turns cooler. I really like simple shapes that are easy to make combined with unique features. For this design, I chose to use the popular open shoulder look. This style is so versatile that you can wear it for a dressy night on the town or you can wear it to the beach over your favorite swimsuit. This is a perfect piece for layering with your favorite tank top as well.

Eager to make this lovely sweater. Hoping that I will succeed, though I plan to close the shoulders - the cold-shoulder look is not for me. Thank you for another great inspiration!
