Notes From the Designer:
This design is inspired by a variety of rose and is also a subtle nod to Mr. Darcy of Pride and Prejudice!
The design motifs in this shawl remind me of little roses climbing up a trellis. What looks like flowers, is actually a traditional Shetland lace pattern, called “Cat’s Paw." How resourceful those early knitters were, and how thankful I am that their ingenuity has been passed down to us.
This is a crescent shaped shawl that is knit from end to end. As you repeat the pattern, the width grows. Then, after working a few repeats without increasing, the decrease rows are repeated. When blocking, you may choose to leave the shawl straight (as knit), or curve it into a crescent shape. I am partial to the latter, as it tends to hug your shoulders and makes it easier to wear.
Click the Videos tab to watch a tutorial on how to dry block this shawl. You'll also see how to work a few of the stitches!
Gauge is not crucial to this project, but will affect yardage and size.
The length and the width of the shawl are both customizable.
- Pattern comes with written and charted instructions.
Errata: The key for the knit stitch (blank square) on the chart, should state that RS rows are knit, and WS rows are purled.

Een heel leuke gebreide ronde omslagdoek, ga hem zeker maken. Hele uitdaging met rondbreinaalden
This is one of the most beautiful shawls I have seen... I have only lost started but it is going to be absolutely gorgeous, this pattern is very easy to understand and use.
I found it very difficult to follow, markers not indicated clearly reuniting. #of stitches and lead to much reknitting. Maybe the charts were better, idk. after figuring it out, I settled in, love the shawl, gorgeous yarn.
I love all your projects and fibres
Beautiful, beautiful shawl pattern! Very elegant and lovely! I like very much that lace I can't wait to make a shawl like this as soon as I can. Thank you very much for this beauty!
I am a novice-ish knitter and this was my first lace shawl. (Needless, to say the woes and worries of understanding lifelines). I was worried about picking lace knitting, but this design is easy, well written and has the entire shawl broken into easy to understand bits. Thank you again for this pattern ! I can't wait to start my next shawl : )
Pretty and seams fairly easy to me
Such a lovely pattern and as usual so easy to order online
I was looking for a special kind of yarn. I was lucky enough to find them and got the yarn. It is working up beautifully and will return soon for more yarn
I received this patter as a freebie; it was my introduction to Expression Fiber Arts. I gave it several attempts before I decided I'm apparently not as good a knitter as I thought! I loved the pattern, and maybe someday I'll attempt it again. But it is beyond my capabilities at this time.
Beautiful pattern! I haven't knitted it yet but I'm looking forward to it. I'm kinda new at knitting so wish me luck.
Beautiful. Hope to try it soon.
Purchased this yarn for the Seren pattern and can't wait to get started. This yarn is luscious and beautiful. Always pleased with Chandi's dyes & especially the yarns. Even though the pattern is for knitters (I'm a crocheter :) ) the pattern is very well written. Kudos to the designer as well. Love the photos of how it is elegant but simple. thank you!!
Love the way the shawl is working out. It is going to be Fabulous when it is done!!!
I haven't started yet but will do it soon and will send you the picture of the end result. Thank you Chandi, I love you for all you do and your good words and spirit, you are awesome. Élisabeth

I love this pattern!
hoping my skills are up to knitting this beautiful wrap. thanks very much for allowing me to get it.
Just cast this on and so far I am in love with this lovely and interesting pattern. I love that it gives both fully written out, row by row instructions as well as well written charts for each phase of the pattern. I almost never make a pattern twice but I’m already thinking of other yarns I can use to make this one again. A winner in my book.
My friend loved the pattern. She said instructions so easy to follow and easy to work up. Sending big thank you to you for sharing your pattern. Hugs, Gramz and Lyn
It-s perfect model for summer. I hope must time for knitting
Love the pattern still waiting for the yarn so I can get started. This will be a challenge for me I’m still new at knitting. The pattern is easy to follow and the video explained the stitches. I’m up for the challenge.
Coup de cœur!
I LOVE this pattern and can't wait to get started on it.
I have this pattern tucked away for the future after I try my hand at lace in another project first. I will DEFINITELY be using the lifeline technique that Chandi shared in the video!
I've got this pattern tucked away to work on after I try my hand at another project with lace first. I will DEFINITELY be using the lifeline technique that Chandi shared in the video!
Going to use this pattern to make Darcy as a gift for a friends Birthday. It looks smart, classy and modern,
precioso diseño,recien estoy bloqueando la muestra,ya lo mostrare una vez terminado, pero falta
Beautiful and fun pattern. Very well written
I like it very much
I have been setting myself up for future projects, and Darcy is a smashing addition. It is gorgeous in the color Candy Apple. However, I love the color Coral , and yours is a beautiful shade in the Alpaca Silk DK. I have never been dissatisfied with a purchase. It always comes well packaged, and in reasonable time. Even as a preorder item.
OH MY WORD! I love this pattern so much! It captures the period and I can’t help but watch old movies as I knit it. I’m only about 1/3 of the way through but the pattern is well written and easy to follow!! Perfect for me! I’m an intermediate knitter
I love easy to follow instructions. And Darcy was possible to knit while I face-timed with my daughters.
Lo vi y me encanto, estoy bloqueando la muestra para empezarlo. Ya contare cuando lo termine!!
The best go to place for patterns & yarn. Pls set up in the UK.
