Notes from the Designer:

A dendrophile is a person who loves trees. They often have a deep appreciation and connection with trees and forests. I know that I find solace and inspiration and feel rejuvenated when I am walking through the trees and forested areas nearby. Knitted using a simple lace motif of a tree, I hope that this cowl keeps you warm and cozy when you are out enjoying nature, too.

  • The Original Version was made with Creative Fingering and used approximately 384 yds / 351 m total. It is shown in the color Serenity.
  • The Updated Sparkle DK Version used approximately 508 yds / 465 m total.
  • The Creative Fingering sample (Version #1) was made with the yarn held double throughout.
  • The Sparkle DK sample (Version #2) was made with one strand throughout.
  • If making Version #1, it is suggested that you weigh your yarn before beginning. Then, wind two even-sized balls to work from instead of working from the inside and outside of a yarn cake.
  • Pattern is a repeat of 18 stitches worked over 16 rounds. You can easily adjust the pattern by adding additional repeats or adding additional rounds, ending on a Round 8 or Round 16.
  • Gauge is not crucial to this pattern; however, adding additional repeats or rounds may require additional yardage.
