Notes From the Designer:

For this design, I wanted something was was simple, but free flowing. I looked through all of my stitch pattern books to find just the right pattern to use that would be easy to remember, but interesting enough to keep my attention while crocheting the sample. Once I saw the Column and Bowl stitch pattern, I immediately thought of the rolling waves and crashing surf that I had the opportunity to view for the first time on a family vacation a couple of years ago. This sparked my imagination to the point that I couldn’t get the pattern out of my head. So, I decided to use it for this shawl. However, I did not want to break it up with stripes of color. My solution was to simply create equal blocks of color to reflect the different lenses that we use to view our lives.

•Free Spirit is a great project for those who love to travel. The easy to remember two row repeating pattern makes this shawl a perfect project to take with you as you explore the world by plane, train, car, or book and can be worked while watching your favorite tv series, listening to your favorite podcast, or even while reading your favorite book.

•This shawl design features simple color changes that help to keep things interesting as you work. Make it your own by adding more colors or more rows, whatever your heart desires. Use your imagination to create a unique shawl that matches your personality.

Pattern includes schematic and chart.
