YARN: 3, (3, 3, 4, 4, 4)  skeins of Expression Fiber Arts CashSilk Sock yarn (100 g/410 yds per skein), shown in colorway (Lady Grey). If that color isn't available, any shades from this category will work. Also feel free to substitute other fingering weight yarns.

SIZES: S, (M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL)/ 40", (44", 48", 52", 56", 60") finished bust, includes 6-7" of positive ease. For less positive ease, consider going down a size. Shown in size S.

NEEDLES: US size 6 (4.0 mm) straight or circular needles (or size to make gauge), plus an additional needle of the same size for three-needle BO, US size 4 (3.5 mm) 16" circular for neck and sleeve trim.

Notes From the Designer:

•I'm a big fan of comfy, oversized tees, but that doesn't mean they have to be frumpy. A simple lace pattern in the bodice and drop sleeves adds a feminine touch and keeps this top from becoming boring.
•This is a great piece for beginner garment knitters as there is no waist or sleeve shaping, and minimal neck shaping. The front and back pieces are knit flat and seamed, with stitches picked up and worked in the round for the neck and sleeve trim.
•Rated for adventurous beginners and up. This pattern uses simple increases and decreases for the lace section, three-needle bind off for the shoulders, and your preferred seaming method for the side seams.
•Hadi is named after a character from a historical fiction manga called Red River. Set in ancient Turkey, the story revolves around the solidification of the Hittite Empire at the beginning of the Iron Age. Hadi is the eldest daughter of a chief whose tribe is the only tribe that possesses the knowledge of how to make iron, which is a powerful bargaining chip for the Hittites. Hadi is a warrior handmaiden who serves Princess Yuri, and she's one of my favorite characters. I like a no-nonsense female character who can hold her own against all the boys in the sandbox. Hadi is the kind of woman I'd like to be when I grow up: she's comfortable in her own skin regardless of whether she's playing a maiden or a fighter.

This pattern is just what I was looking for to try my hand at making a garment. I really like the bit of lace at the top. Also, knitting the pieces and seaming seems to make it easier. I also bought the suggested yarn in the butter beer colorway.

Although I don’t have the yarn to make this yet, it looks like a really nice sweater to sink my teeth into. I am hoping to make it in the future. I can see myself making a lot of use of a sweater like this.

I haven’t started this yet. I’m a beginner and want to try a few more easy patterns first but am looking forward to making this.
