Notes From the Designer:

Tending the rock garden full of dark, almost black soil, my mother and I planted many flowers, each one with its own vibrant, breathtaking hue. The warm, bright rays of the sun enhanced their colors as they sway in the gentle breeze. This floral shawl design awakens these childhood memories.

The silky softness of the Pearlescent yarn as it glides through my fingers, reminds me of the softness ofthe flower petals I touched when my mother was not looking. The open lily floral pattern uses a simple, yet elegant, patterned combination of chain, single, and treble crochet stitches. The trio of colorful, gradient hues are separated and grounded by parallel rows of treble crochet that is reminiscent of the stems of each flower.

I hope you enjoy crocheting this garden of memories!

  • The floral pattern is created by groups 10 stitches wide. You can easily adjust the pattern to your liking by adding or subtracting multiples of 10, as displayed in the two samples. Depending upon your choice of starting row, you may need to add a few additional chains to the cast-on once you’ve reached your desired size. For the larger pattern, just add 7 extra chains. For the alternative set-up to the smaller version, simply add 4 extra chains.
  • Each section has 2 rows that repeat several times. You can easily customize the overall span of your shawl (or the width of any individual section) by working fewer/more of those repeated rows.

Nice!!!

Lily was a pleasure to crochet. I used two hanks of my birthstone yarn — JULY RUBY 'PEARLESCENT' FINGERING. I used a size D (3.25mm) hook to crochet the entire wrap because I wanted a tighter look. I think this used more yarn so I had to adjust accordingly as I crocheted. Easy peasy. Turned out great! Looks beautiful! Lily is so soft and lush against my skin.

I’m currently working this pattern using the JULY RUBY 'PEARLESCENT' FINGERING. I love it! Very pretty pattern that shows off the beautiful subtle color variation of this yarn. I accidentally found ‘Lily’ during an internet search for a “star pattern” and fell in love with its beauty. It made me decide to try luxury yarns…and I’m hooked.

Your products are very beautiful but most of all your videos and how you demonstrate how to make the different patterns are so encouraging to try it myself. I am a beginner but you make it look so easy to make any of them. You are definitely a specialist & highly skilled in your field. They look easy but for me they are not .. hopefully in time as I learn more from your videos. Thank you for your very positive attitude. One suggestion: is there any list of videos? It might help navigating the videos better.
