This pattern is designed for use with 12 skeins of our Dewy Dk yarn in colorway: SOLITUDE. Choose any color you like, though. You can definitely adjust the size of the blanket if you wish. 

HOOK: You'll need a US Size N (9.00 mm) crochet hook.

SIZE : 50" x 35" unblocked, 57" x 38" blocked

Notes From the Designer:

An elegant design using basic crochet stitches, featuring alternating stripes of textured stitches and smooth stitches for an interesting blend of softness and style.

A larger hook with two strands of Dewy DK yarn held together makes this a quick, simple, and warm blanket pattern that is perfect for beginning crocheters.

This blanket has a wide border that resembles a picture frame.

The blanket is crocheted back and forth in one piece, starting with the center section.

I love to crochet quick projects with thicker yarns or yarns held double and bigger hooks. Blankets usually seem to take forever to make, sometimes causing me to lose interest before I complete the project.  This one was very quick and very fun for me to both design and to crochet.  

I like simple stripes and textures and included both in this blanket design.  The center stripes are made using rows of crochet Griddle Stitch alternated with rows of Double Crochet.  Both sections are also reflected in the border to give the blanket a look of framed art.
