US size 7 (4.5 mm) 30” or 40” circular knitting needle (75 cm or 100 cm)

Adjust needle size to obtain an accurate gauge.

SKILL LEVEL:

Adventurous Beginner: For those knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include: basic lace stitches, charts, i-cord bind off.

Notes From the Designer:

Rain is not common here in Saudi Arabia, but I dearly love the rain. I love the feeling, the smell, and the freshness that it brings. The idea for this pattern came to me one day as it was raining. It was evening, and the sun was setting. I looked out my window, and I saw the sunlight was shining through the raindrops that were dripping down from the eves of my roof. It made them look like pink diamonds dripping down from the sky to the ground below. I knew I had to create something to capture that magical moment in time.

  • Click the Videos tab to learn how to begin, work the lace section, and work the i-cord BO.
  • The shawl starts with a modified garter tab cast-on, and finishes with an i-cord bind off.
  • There is a 4 st garter stitch border at the beginning and end of each row.
  • When working any decrease, keep the stitches on the tips of your needles. This will prevent them from becoming stretched out.
  • The shawl uses almost all of the 4 skeins. If you are a loose knitter, consider purchasing an extra skein to ensure you have enough yarn. Additional repeats of the lace section may be added, but it will affect the yardage needed.
  • Lace repeat is charted on page 7.
  • Stitch counts are given at the end of each row in lace section.

I have done this amazing Shawl for my mother in law, I have done it in a blue fingering yarn, the result was fabulous, It is my first shawl and it got a bit of practice to get it all right, and despite my little mistakes I am quite happy with it and my mother in law is thrilled. Is really beautiful and I do recommend anyone to do it on their favourite colour and yarn. 10/10

I've yet to put this beautiful project onto my needles; before 2022, I was busy knitting other items for Christmas and Birthday gifts. Now it's time for a treat for myself. Will update on my progress. Thanks so much for the many, many free patterns, and the stunning yarn choices.

This shawl pattern is deceptively easy to work! The lace section makes it look complicated, but even a beginner could complete this one. It hugs the shoulders, too, so you don’t have to worry about it falling off.

This pattern, like all that are offered at EFA, is unbelievably gorgeous. I haven't purchased the yarn yet, but the pattern looks very doable for this intermediate knitter, and I can't wait to get started on it.

A very nice one, though I liked more the patterns with cables or with color designs like Karuna Wilbraham and Mysa. Actually, there are so many impressive designs so it's hard to compete...
