Notes From the Designer:
I love to travel! My favorite way to travel is by motor home. We have so many adventures, and I just love being able to stop and visit and explore the little towns as we drive. As we explore, it is so comforting to have a shawl that I can put over my shoulders to protect me from the breeze. I love that I can pop a tissue, a small souvenir, a shell or pebble in one of the pockets. It is comforting to have these little reminders of a fun, relaxing afternoon handy.
That is what this shawl embodies. The melodic repeats will put you in a calm, patient state of mind. As a beginner knitter, the ease of the pattern will help you build confidence and trust in your skills.
- Click the Videos tab to watch a tutorial on how to work the body stitch and make the pocket.
- The stitch used in this shawl is very stretchy when blocked. When blocking your project to your desired measurements, I recommend not overstretching the finished piece.
- I highly recommend making a test swatch, as the difference between unblocked and blocked dimensions can be 3-5” (7.5-12.5 cm).
- This pattern is made lengthwise.

I am enjoying this pattern, so much so that I have yarn for 3 more laid out to make Christmas gifts…very unusual for me to make the same patern twice…now I will 4 times at least. Love it
It’s strong, warm and cozy. Love the pockets. Crocheting is my passion, but excited to start on this beautiful knitted shawl.
I absolutely loved this pattern. I recently just finished knitting this pattern, and I darn say it turned out fabulous. I used a new type of yarn that I wasn't used so it had taken me just few rows to get used but let me tell you I'm glad I did because it is as soft as a cloud and looks like a dream. I am currently in the process of blocking it but I know this will be the envy by my family members. I highly recommend you give this pattern a try even if you are looking to try something new, you will not regret it!
Lovely pattern! Not on the needles yet, but soon, very soon...
I love the pattern but haven't had the time to start it yet...
lovely pattern with good instructions. I have not started this one yet but will be planning on doing so
All of the patterns I have acquired at EFA have been gorgeous...but this one may just be extra special! I will update you on my progress!! Thanks EFA for beautiful patterns and excellent fibers!!
While I have not yet started this pattern as I am awaiting the delivery of my yarn, I have read through it. It is extremely well written and explains everything in detail, without droning on about things that aren't necessary. I look forward to starting this in the next few days.
This is a pleasure to knit! Makes a wonderful gift. I am not very experienced and had a wonderful time making this
The shawl is beautiful and I wanted a pattern with a pocket. It met all my requests.
