Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate: This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. The stitches themselves are not difficult, but good pattern reading skills are necessary.
Notes from the Designer:
Combine this boxy, drop shoulder design with the silky softness of SeaCoast Fingering cotton blend yarn for a sweater that will surely become a favorite. With so many ways to customize this sweater, you can truly make it your own.
Without side shaping, altering the length is simple. Adjust the sleeves to what is most comfortable to you, or eliminate them altogether for a sleeveless top. Two interchangeable stitch patterns allow you to decide where you would like to insert the lace pattern. And, if lace isn’t to your liking, make it all solid!
Pieces are knit separately and joined as you go. The remaining side and sleeve seams have clearly marked selvedge stitches that will help you create a professional looking finished seam.
- Click the Videos tab to watch a video on how to use fabric to make a mockup of a knit sweater, so your sweaters will fit every single time.
The length of the sweater may be customized by adjusting the number of repeats of R1 - R2 before marking for underarm. Remember to account for the difference in length between as knit and blocked. For this yarn, the as knit length is approximately 80% of the finished blocked length. To customize the length, determine your desired length, and multiply by 0.8 to determine the as knit length.

I have made two tops, one with 3/4 sleeves and one sleeveless. The pattern is clear and easy to follow. I used Seacoast Fingering for both and couldn't be happier. I will definitely be making making this pattern again.
Another wonderful pattern for my pattern collection! Need to get some yarn
I love the yarn so smooth to work with. Have the back finished. Started on front. Lace pattern nice.
I like it very much, I am going to start on it soon….
What a lovely pattern, it turned out just the way I expected - beautifully! I love how it fits with just the right amount of positive ease. Thank you!
Beautiful sweater. Instructions are very detailed and well written. I look forward to casting on for this.
Pattern is easy to follow.
I'm looking forward to making this in a short sleeve version for summer.
Lovely pattern. Very detailed explanation for each size. It will be one of my many projects.
Beautiful garment which I can't wait to knit for myself
Love this sweater and so looking forward to knitting it.
Haven't had a chance to do, yet, outlooking forward trying next year. Please send any revision. Thank you so much for putting Some of your Wonderful Patterns available for free.
Thanks for a free project, I was so excited about it! I do like the look of the end product and wanted to do it, but I find the pattern too complicated for me to follow without a video, so I won’t be able to do it unless I see it being done. My mind just switches off in front of it, it seems… I’m keen and have been knitting quite a lot, but not skilled at reading patterns as well yet.. ;) Best regards!
The process of ordering and receiving the pattern was quick and easy. Did not yet have time to study the pattern, but my guess is it is good to follow, even for a Dutch knitter :o)
Really nice summer pattern.
Looking forward to knitting this sweater !
I look forward to starting it!
Looks like another fun project.
I love this pattern for the open work around the neckline.
I have yet to cast on this project but I am looking forward to it. The past patterns I have purchased, or downloaded for free have always turned out well.
I am in love with this stunning top! I have this pattern in mind to make for myself! Thanks a million Chandi
