Sometimes though, the breeze can be a bit chilly, making a lightweight poncho a welcome addition to your summer wardrobe. This poncho is designed to be easy to wear when needed, while being small enough to tuck into your bag if you get a little warm.
-Simple increase and decrease rows of double crochet make this poncho an easy crochet pattern for beginners to learn neck shaping techniques without becoming overwhelmed by the stitches.
-I designed this poncho to be worked in one piece so that seams would not be necessary. The double crochet stitches add a reversible feature to the poncho so you will not struggle with having to find the correct side when putting it on.

I started this project 3 days ago. I frogged it about 25 times because I kept going into the wrong stitch at the end of rows 2-4. I finally got past row 5. Yay! I am a beginner but have worked on multiple projects in the 4 yrs I've been crocheting. I love crocheting!!! I've made sweaters & shawls. I would consider myself an adventurous beginner. Definitely use stitch markers to mark the beginning stich 3 that you go into at the end of rows 2-4!! This helped me so much!!!

I'll start by saying, I've only been crocheting close to 4 yrs. I would consider myself an adventurous beginner however I am having the hardest time with this. I get to row 4 and then frog it. I've frogged it six times already. It just doesn't look right so I end of frogging it. I wish there was a video so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong. So sad, maybe I'll try again after a good night's rest.

Great pattern. Clear and easy to follow. Perfect for a beginner that what's to try making something a little more interesting that basic scarf and cowls. I had some yarn leftover from my two skeins and added my own border. I would hold the yarn double if I was to make this again.

This is a relatively easy pattern to follow, well written, that works up beautifully! Love the blue, but I used a variegated with some hints of purple and green to enhance the ocean idea. Absolutely gorgeous!
