Are you ready for The Journey?
This is a knitted shawl pattern, plus full written story and video guiding you along a journey.
•What have you been desiring? What dream have you shoved aside until the time felt right?
•It might be a tiny dream, or a huge one. Perhaps you are on a journey to love yourself. Or to write a book. Start a business. Be more mindful in your relationships. Spend more time creating. Find a new job. Start a family. Rest more. Speak your truth.
•Whatever your dream, know it is valid and worthy of your attention. You deserve for all good things to come your way.
•You will begin your journey in the Cabin of Complacency. You’ll venture through the Forest of Fear. As you continue, you’ll reach the River of Doubt. And, if you choose, you will climb the Mountain of Perseverance and be rewarded with what lies at the top.
•As you reach each phase of the story, you will knit a corresponding section of your shawl.
•I will be your companion on this journey toward your dream. And know, many others are journeying alongside you. They are smiling when you’re smiling, laughing when you’re laughing and crying when you’re crying. We’re all in this together.
Your journey awaits - are you ready?

The journey
This is the first time I actually followed a written pattern and it turnen out beautifully.
The Journey
I have not started this project, but the instructions are clear and concise. It is a beautiful shawl!
The Journey
It took me over 6 months to complete this project, but that is a result of my insane life, nothing to do withthe project. I found the pattern to be challenging enough that I didn't get bored over the months I worked on it. Yet, nothing was too difficult to cause me to get frustrated. Such a sense of satisfaction when I bound off that last stitch!
The Journey
This shawl took forever for me to finish, but that's because of the insanity of my life, nothing to do with the pattern. I found the pattern to be challenging enough to keep me interested through the months I worked on it. Such a sense of accomplishment when I bound off that last stitch!
The Journey
This shawl tells a story. That in itself was enough for me to purchase the pattern. It tells a story about journeying through forests, across mountains, always aware, watching the little things close by as well as studying the sky and horizon overhead. It will be a challenge for me to work, but I am hopeful that by 2022 I'll have the skill to begin it. What a beautiful piece it will be!!!!
“The Journey”. Pattern
Feeling so low because of what has been happening in the world, Chandi’s write up on The Journey beckoned me, she seemed to be speaking directly to my soul. Though I am still not even in the cabin of complacency yet, I am close to releasing the guilt of starting a new project while I have others to complete. I can’t wait to get this one on the needles !
Journey shawl pattern
This was the pattern used for the 2020 KAL on Ravelry (great place to view several knitters’ different yarn choices and finished products). Each section features very different stitch patterns and combinations, but they blend and flow well together so they do not appear disjointed. Personally, I would NOT use the same colorway for the entire shawl, as it would detract from the intricacies of the individual sections...however you only need a very small shift in tone to visually mark the pattern shifts. THE COLOR CHANGES (including alternating row directions) ARE PART OF THE PATTERN, SO YOU DO NOT NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO SOFTLY TRANSITION FROM ONE TO ANOTHER! Be sure, however, to CHECK YARDAGE requirements!! Many people did not do so when purchasing kits of a different base, and proceeded to complain about being short. If you do use less yardage, the 2020-KAL for this pattern on Ravelry.com has a lot of suggestions on how to shorten the pattern. Overall, the instructions from this designer are always clear, often provide extra tips, and generally feature a section before the pattern on “special stitches” or “alternative options”.
The Journey
