Notes from the Designer:

  • This pattern will be available on our website only for a limited time.
  • I crochet loosely. If you are a tight crocheter, I suggest going up a hook size or two. Just make sure to check gauge first.
  • This ruana is worked by making two identical panels. You then sew them together to create the armholes and back seam.
  • Width is measured by how many rows you have.
  • Length is the width of the entire panel (from first stitch to last stitch).
  • For a shorter length, follow the stitch counts for the next size down, and then follow your original size instructions for how many rows to make. OR subtract in multiples of 10.
  • For a longer length, follow the stitch counts for the next size up, and then follow your original size instructions for how many rows to make. OR add in multiples of 10.
  • Beginning Ch 1 and Ch 2 DO NOT count as the first stitch.
  • Beginning Ch 5 counts as the first triple crochet stitch and the chain 1 space.
  • The ch 1 spaces count as a stitch on Rows 2, 3, 5, and 6.
  • The ch 3s on Row 4 are counted as 1 stitch.
  • The ”Shells” at the end of each row count is referring to the section of stitches that creates a shell as a whole [he (3 trc, ch 1, trc, ch 1, 3 trc)].
  • ”Puff Set” are BOTH the dc and the puff stitch combination.
  • Anything in between * * means you repeat that specific sequence until specified.
  • This pattern includes written instructions, links to video tutorials, and photo tutorials.
