Intermediate - This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include: working from a diagram, textured stitches, and picot edging.
Notes from the Designer:
Inspired by the Spanish word for summer, this beautiful, crocheted shawl is light and airy and uses only two stitches. The shawl begins with a center triangle, and then additional rows are worked on the two opposite sides of the shawl. The rows of Moss stitch add additional surface texture and visual interest. The picot edging adds a delicate finish to the border. Let it sweep you away to a faraway summer escape!
- Click the Videos tab to watch a video on how to crochet the different sections of this shawl.
- The updated sample shown used approximately 938 yds/858 m total (Color A: 193 yds/176 m, Color B: 435 yds/398 m, and Color C: 310 yds/283 m).
- The original shawl was worked in Luster Sport and is shown in colors A) Frosted Freesia and B) Bella (one skein each of Colors A and B).
- The original sample shown used 785 yards total: A) 395 yards and B) 395 yards [718 m total: A) 361 m and B) 361 m].
- Please carefully read through the pattern before starting your project.
- You will want to check your gauge throughout the project to ensure you have enough yarn.
- The pattern begins with the top center triangle. The body of the shawl is achieved by picking up and crocheting the selvedge stitches along the right and left side of the top center triangle. (See Construction Diagram on page 7).
- The size of the shawl can be increased or decreased by adding or subtracting rows in any of the sections.
- Always end the section on Side A (RS).

I have completed a little over half of this pattern. The resulting shawl is beautiful. It has such a stunning visual texture to it. I am looking forward to completing it. I am thinking of adding beads to the border if possible. I am new to crochet and agree with the difficulty level. The pattern is easy to read and follow. I used luster sport yarn for this pattern.
Hi I love the pattern. I love your yarn but it is out of my budget..well worth I'm sure but I'm on a limited income and in Canada. I have only dabbled with crochet and yarn in the past. I'm hoping to be able to get someone to help find a comparable yarn here that I can use. Thanks for sharing your pattern. Love your work. Monica
Nice nice nice!
I just love the shawl and the yarn so soft, easy to work with
I’m enjoying making the shawl ,not finished but I love the yarn Soft and loving the colour
Looks easy, but isn't. The pattern need a lot of attention and somewhere the number is stiches doesn't eqaul with written. Some places the description doesn't clear (in sc block we start the row on the closest stich or not, how it decrease with 3 sts, in mine only with 2, etc). I hope, after blocking it's top will be straight.
This is an ongoing project for me. I am totally enjoying my time spent with it. Truly appreciate the unique choices!
