ABOUT THE PATTERN:
- A basic, easy hat pattern for guys or gals. You can adjust the size too if you like and make a baby hat, toddler hat, kid, teen, etc.
- You'll need to know how to work the knit stitch and purl stitch. Even if you don't, I provide links to my video tutorials, so even those new to knitting can make a hat.
ABOUT THE YARN:
YARN - DEWY DK WEIGHT - 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Nylon, 10% Silk
This yarn is sumptuous. Ultra-soft and squishy, and sure to be a favorite. Machine-washable, with a hint of "dewy" glow from the silk and strength and longevity from the nylon. I had the mill spin this custom yarn to these exact specs so you'd have a versatile DK weight yarn not only beautiful to look at but also delightful to work with.
•4-ply : This produces a round, plump yarn, for beautiful, defined stitches!
•DK Weight (stands for Double Knitting): This weight of yarn is thinner than worsted weight and thicker than sport weight. It's incredibly versatile and can knitted or crocheted into an endless number of wonderful items. All types of accessories from head to toe...sweaters are amazzzing... soft, cozy, long-wearing afghans, and loads more. This yarn is ideal for baby items too, due to the softness and ability to be machine-washed.
•Yardage: 230 m / 250 yd
•Weight: 115 g / 4 oz
•Recommended Knitting Needle Size: US 6-8
•Crochet Hook Size: G-H
Note: Each skein is a hand-created, unique work of art and no two skeins will be identical, even within the same dye lot. If working with more than one skein in a project, it is best to alternate skeins every other row. Despite every effort to accurately depict our product colors, actual shades may vary due to differences in monitor settings.
It's a very easy pattern to follow. I'm halfway done with the hat
I got this for my stepdaughter who is new to knitting. She is taking a long trip and this seems to be the perfect project.
I am so excited to make this. I've made lots of beanies, but this delightful kit came with everything and I'm finally going to learn how to use the magic loop knitting technique. Such gorgeous yarn! No one could possibly procrastinate at getting started when I comes with everything needed to create your beautiful cap.
I purchased this a bit ago and think this kit is perfect. It came with the needles (which I found very helpful) and some of the most beautiful yarn on the planet. My hat turned out beautifully thanks to Chandi!
I love this kit. I love this yarn! The yarn is so soft and a beautiful color (Catnap). The directions are very easy to read, and the videos on YouTube make it even more! I'm a little more than 30% done with the beanie and I'm excited to show everyone my first knitted project. Thank you for this kit! I've wanted to knit for years, but found it frustratingly hard, but your videos were awesome and it just clicked and now I can knit! Woohoo!
Absolutely love this kit! It's great for beginners, this was my first real knitting project, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. The yarn it the best! Gorgeous, super soft, beautiful colours.. I will definitely buy more! Also want to say that Chandi's Youtube videos are awesome! Thanks!
This kit includes a perfect pattern for beginning knitters, a hank of really soft, machine washable wool dyed to perfection in gorgeous colors (I chose a color that self stripes with this pattern), and a basic circular knitting needle. The little bag holds the whole Hank (once balled our wound), the pattern and your project, once you cast on.
I received this kit a little over a week ago. The superwash dk yarn it comes with is amazing. So soft and squishy. My husband looked at me weird when I kept cuddling the yarn. The bag is a little bit smaller than I anticipated, but a great size for a such a small project. I, however, do not really like the needles it came with. I love that they are wood, I can't use metal knitting needles or crochet hooks as they hurt my hands. The needles just aren't slick enough for me. I have some laminated needles from knit picks that I Iove. I do suggest this kit for beginners though. You may like the needles.
I've been a crochetter for years now and have always been of the mindset that to know one you cannot know both (something I was taught to believe). This is proving that old mind set wrong in so many ways. It's taken me a week, but this set is really getting me going and inspired. Make sure you watch the video on YouTube while doing this, especially like me if you are dyslexic.
I'm looking forward to using all the great resources Chandi has provided to learn to make this hat. I'll be using the same yarn that I used to make the beginner's scarf - another great beginner's project in a wonderful kit. Thanks for the videos. They are very helpful along with the written pattern. Thanks, Chandi!
