Notes from the Designer:
The colors of the Sunlit Rose Hues kit remind me of the many beautiful rose bushes that my mother used to grow when I was a child. In particular, the subtle pink, peach, and apricot hues of the CashSilk Sock kit evoke the colors of the Shukrani rose. Shukrani means thankfulness, appreciation, and gratitude in Swahili, and as the inspiration behind the Shukrani shawl, it’s a reminder to give thanks for the small moments of beauty that surround us every day.
The Shukrani shawl is knitted flat in one piece and begins with a delicate picot cast on and ends with a matching picot bind off. The shawl features an overall, lace design that recalls the soft curve of a rose petal, while the picots mimic the tips of leaves and the thorns of a rose. The body of the shawl is constructed by repeating a 28-row sequence that is designed to be knitted with three complementary colors that will blend well with each other to create a gorgeous, symmetrical gradient from beginning to end. Instructions for the picot cast on and bind off are included in the pattern, as well as both written and charted instructions.

Shukrani
This is absolutely gorgeous and one of my favorite patterns! It is intricate but not difficult. I made in cotton cat. 3 light yarn and it drapes beautifully! Perfect for the beach. Thank you EFA!

Shukrani and Cash Silk Sock
The Shukrani pattern is proving to be delightful ! First, the instructions are on point. From there, the movement of the color transitions are fascinating. I'm at the point in my project where the third color is about to dominate and it is so exciting! The yarn, Cash Silk Sock, is incredibly soft while being very strong. The twist of the yarn is great and yarn splits are not an issue. The colors are beautiful and the variety of color makes every stitch look like a little gem.

I have not made this shawl as of yet but I do want to comment on other patterns from Expression Fiber Arts. I find that the patterns are very easy to follow and very detailed. I have used so many patterns from other sources that are written so poorly, one cannot even finished the product. Thank you for producing very beautiful and easily to follow patterns.
